The Shelby Synclair Scholarship Foundation was established in loving memory of Shelby Synclair.

In August 2022, at just 8 years old, Shelby was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Despite facing challenges that would test anyone’s strength, cancer never diminished her spirit or stole her joy.

In Loving Memory

Shelby with long black curly hair, wearing a pink swimsuit, making a kissy face, with a woman standing behind her.

Shelby remained fully and fearlessly herself — a comedian, singer, dancer, and pianist. She embraced each of her talents with confidence and determination, inspiring everyone around her.

Beyond her own journey, Shelby became a passionate advocate for children and families facing childhood cancer. She served as a Walgreens patient ambassador and a Cure Kid with Cure for Childhood Cancer, and helped host a care-a-thon to raise funds for research.

While Shelby achieved so much, what meant the most to her was finding a cure and moving on to middle school. She was incredibly excited about that next chapter in her life.

A life Full of Light

While Shelby achieved so much, what meant the most to her was finding a cure and moving on to middle school. She was incredibly excited about that next chapter in her life.

Shelby passed away in July 2025, just weeks before she was set to begin middle school.

Surrounded by friends and family, we celebrated her life and the profound impact she made in such a short time.
